Family is the one thing I ‘carrot’ live without and no matter what colour you are, what shape you are, a family would never exclude you because they are there for you. We are eaten in multiple ways so come and take a look at the carrot world!

Imperator Carrots
The most common carrot you crunch on are Imperator carrots, the long classic tapered rots you see in the mall while doing your boring shopping with mom. The Imperator carrot are usually 20 to 27 cm when mature. They have a deep orange skin with a crisp juicy taste. Imperator carrots are usually eaten raw or mixed in salads.
Chantenay carrots
These carrots are fairly short and stout as they are not as thin and long.
Chantenay carrots can be eaten raw or cooked. These sweet and crisp carrots is what makes them great for roasted dishes. Sadly I am only available during spring. Chantenay carrots were first found in France in 1800’s.
Nantes carrots
Nantes carrots were first found by Henri Vilmorin in 1885. This unique carrot has a near perfect cylindrical root with smooth skin and entirely edible near-red flesh both sweet and mild in flavour.
Now this upcoming carrot is called a Danvers. They look like Imperator carrots just more fat.
The ones you see in supermarkets and waiting to be cooked are Danvers. They have a bumpy and a thicker skin than the previously mentioned cousins. Danvers are best diced and boiled.

White carrots:
Time to get fancy! No doubt white carrots are part of my family too. white carrots have a mild, sweet flavor.
White carrots are commonly used in baby food to impart the sweet carrot flavor without the orange colour. They work particularly well roasted. If you're wanting to make a stew or soup, they will add a lovely shade and a surprising burst of sweetness to the soup bringing the restaurant's taste to home.
Purple carrots:
Purple carrots have an intensely sweet flavor that can sometimes they can have peppery taste. Purple carrots are known for their colour, they have a both interior and exterior colour of purple, amazing hey! These carrots are great to eat raw, as crudités, in salads and also made as spicy carrot pickles
Red carrots:
Red carrots don't differ too much from orange carrots when you taste it, that is one proof that they are related. Their red colour comes from lycopene, the antioxidant held in tomatoes. This is beneficial to your health and prevents cancer. Lets sport in your kitchen, red carrots are usually in recipes like creamy carrot soups or gingered carrot soup.
